I am replacing the 6.9 in my truck. When I get it out, I will have the entire engine, Hypermax turbo, starter, bellhousing, clutch, T-19 4-speed, every wire, hose, slave cylinder, everything.
This stuff is in peak state of repair as I make my living with this truck a long way from the house.
The engine is getting weak; and on a long hill, I can smell blow-by from the crank-case.
It starts at the first crank and runs like a scalded dog, it just needs re-ringing, etc.
I haven't made up my mind whether to sell this package in its entirety, or rebuild the engine and find me a older 70's crew cab to put it in.
What would be a realistic country boy figure to expect if I rebuild the engine myself??
Do you bore these engines, re-line, or just hone and re-ring??
It probably has some over 400,000 on it.
I am afraid I will take a beating if I sell it because other than being worn, I have to keep it road ready.
