Ok I've found the donor crew cab for my next truck. It is an 87 F350 4X4 SRW it had a 460 with the Zf5. No bed, not tanks might even have a body lift?

And My parts truck is an 88 F250 Super cab with a zf5 it was converted to DRW it is rough and 300k miles, old guy that builds Post Offices drove all over the East. I'll get pictures of both soon.

The question i have is what do i offer for the 88? or should i look for another???

If the cab is in good/fair shape no cracked windshield... I would offer $300-$400 max.

heck the zf5 should be worth that, i would affer a little more. you could start there but i wouldent offer to much more. i whink it would be a big toss up wethere the engine would last much longer if you didnt know how it was cared for.

I would be rebuild the engine so i'm not worried about that, if i can get the 87 for $800 and then sell the 5.8 for $800 i could get the 88 for $1000?
i got some pictures of the 88 but my camera is acting goofy ?

Please do not pay $1000 for that truck! granted our markets are 3k miles apart, but they can't be that different. Especially if you "don't care about the engine" because you will be rebuilding anyway. Here's a couple that look better off than that.

another...

Sorry, I thought You where asking about the 87 not the 88. Still, I would not offer more than $700 for the 88 starting at a lower # than that in case the owner wants for fight the price. The engine needs a rebuild anyway and the tranny even they last long 300k is a lot and You may have to rebuild that one too unless it was well taken care of.

Well the guy used it for work, he is the foreman and used it to get back and forth, he is an older guy so it should be in fair shape. I was going to see if he needs a worker for the summer part time for the truck some where about $800?

IDK, but it should be pretty tough to get $800 for a 5.8L engine

They aren't very good engines and last I checked on one a good salvage could be had for around $400

OK so now you have this one and the crew cab? What is the plan?

Calvin
No crew cab yet. I didn't want to buy the crew until i was sure i could get a parts truck? so now to find the best deal on a crew! The way things are i better go see the guy that owns the crew quick!!

New slave, new clutch, new ip, new injectors, he said some other stuff but i can't remember right now. He started it form me and it took some time but fired up and sounded great!!
