Yeah, I’ve got probably $300 in the whole nitrous and meth setup and for $60 to fill a bottle up it’s a lot of fun

It is, for sure. I just don't want to get attached to the nitrous and then not have it last very long. That's why I don't think that I'll even consider messing with it. I know that I'll never have the biggest or fastest, so I'll be happy with what I've got.

I read this whole thread and I feel like I know a lot more about the IDI than when I started. Thanks a ton for putting this all out there, I love the way you've experimented and reported your findings, I had no idea you could do all this with a IDI. Your fuel system explanations are gold, I can really picture it's workings now.

IDK what the future might be for my motor, gonna keep it stock for the most part I think, at least at first till the whole truck is shipshape. I'll sure be hitting you up about some of your reliability mods like the coolant plugs and your GP wire set when I make it that far. Thx again for sharing all this!

PS: This engine pic is about the best motor porn I've seen in a long time :D

Thanks I appreciate it, glad my project has been entertaining and somewhat educational for everyone, but if that’s the best looking engine you’ve seen then you should check out Project Jerry’s build thread also in my sig:

Here’s how I ended up rectifying the vacuum pump breaking off the engine. Took the top hat off the pump with the broken arms, and swapped it onto a spare pump that wants making good vacuum. The lower half is a just a lubricated cam so as long as I still have a top half that makes a decent vaccum, it can swap between lower halves and be fine. Driving the truck this morning the turbo doesn’t sound great, think it might have not liked the last nitrous backfires when I took Jeremy for a drive

If you're talking about removing the ones in your block and heeads, I did a write up about it in my thread "7.3 cooling mods".

Well after 40k miles of driving in the rain and sun, the alt has passed away. Took a spare alt of the shelf and bolted it in place and we have charging again, even at idle. Few days ago we had a cold morning with a crazy DA, it was around -1700 ft below sea level and in the 30s, which at 1300 ft elevation where im at makes a big difference, heres a clip rolling into it on a dead highway with no meth or nitrous. 3.55s, 33" tire and zf5 if anyone wants to calculate mph at 3500 rpms in 5th...

It's not nearly the same as when I was there, but it still looks like decent performance for one of these old girls.
