So, in your case, the TC lockup issue can be worked around several ways:
1. Unhook the TC lockup wire and cap it - No TC lockup, but at least you have 4 gears and a running truck, and can upgrade the TC lockup later.
2. Upgrade to a 4R100 trans from a later truck when you do the PCM upgrade.
3. Install a manual trans and not worry about the stupid lockup.[/QUOTE]
If I'm reading this correctly, I CAN do a pcm "upgrade". What do you mean exactly? A different model pcm? Like the dpc422 instead of my dpc402? And I wont have tc lock up? I'm pretty sure when my trans was rebuilt that they may have rebuilt it to later model specs, it shifts stupid hard sometimes and the tc lock up is random sometimes as well, sometimes it locks up as it shifts to 2nd or 3rd and it makes it extremely hard shift and obviously lowers the rpm quite a bit and makes less power to do less boost due to less rpm... it did not do all this before it was rebuilt. Anyway, back to the question, can I use a different computer? Either way I'd like to have manual trans and case but that's definitely not in the budget.
