I dont plan to get it build till I get it on the motor, just lookng for input. getting it calibrated to marine spec is what I was thinking, on marine motor it be governed higher an set to fuel better from idle to a high rpm. around 240-260cc is what I was thinking, a db4 set to 180cc will come close 400hp. about what is the pop on a 3208, was thinking about moding 12v injectors to work an set them between 2500-2800 pop. main issues would be the nozzle may got to far down into the pre-chamber

I agree. The stroked injectors have the capability to flow a lot more fuel and you wouldn't have to worry about converting the Cummins injectors over. Also on top of that you might be able to have the nozzles EDM'd to flow more. There might be a bigger gain to be had doing that to stroked injectors as compared to stock ones since they have the ability to flow more to begin with...

here is how I am going to be mounting the hx35's, I am going to do stub pipes to them but not for sure if I should do weld on or bolt on. If I do weld on I will move the pass one back a bit, and I will probably do SS 4" side pipes.

I can't wait to see the final setup. Did the turbos end up being the same size? Like the same compressor size and amount of blades?

I know there were volvos from the 80s that got t3 Garrett turbos, the 300td's got stuff like TBO35/TBO359/TA0314,

Most OM617s got Garrett T0301 turbos. Some of them got *** turbos. The *** turbos have a more easily-adjustable wastegate, so they are more desirable, but I've never actually seen one, just read about them. Of the dozens of OM617-powered diesel MBZs I've seen, all of them had Garrett turbochargers. You can sometimes get these very cheap, but then you'll have to rebuild them in most cases. I rebuilt one off an '85 and I had to replace the compressor wheel.

My W126 300SD FSM OM617 manual says that the turbo is either a "Garrett TA 0301" or a "*** 532 679 60 31" which sounds like a Mercedes part number more than a *** one.
