Oil Return Plug In Heads

Some time back about 2 weeks ago a question was asked about an oil return fitting possibility in the heads. The answer is yes... All the heads have a 1/4 inch pipe plug in them. That thread is tapered and is 18 threads per inch. This opens directly into the return oil flow from the heads to the oil pan. I hope this is useful information and sorry for taking so long getting this info out...

Can you snap a picture so we can see exactly where it's at? Could be used as a drain for a bypass filter correct?

Its located on the front of the driver side head. There might be more but this is the one I know about first hand.

The 7.3 IDI engine shop manual that I have shows the one intended for oil bypass return to be at the back of the driver's side head. It sounds as if there's one at each corner. In examining my truck, it appears that the front ones (if they're there) are buried under bracketry.

a few years ago I bought a Racor CCV "kit" but it turned out that it was missing a few pieces. Irregardless, when I get down to putting together my exhaust system RDT, the Racor will be used to attempt to filter out some of the oil vapors so I don't look like I'm smoking too much. It's unproven in a IDI and the downside is blowing out all my seals and gaskets in the motor, that's why I haven't said much about it. the PSD crowd is able to use the system successfully to keep the oil out of the turbo.
Basically speaking, I'm going to have a hell of a time getting to my valve covers eventually with all that's going on under the hood of my '92.

Does that fitting supply pressure? Or would it serve as a drain? Maybe I could re route my turbo drain over there...

The heads are mirrored. I think Hypermax even drills out a hole in their turbo bracket to leave this plug exposed on the back of the passenger side head.

what about if the drain was pressureised cause im gonne be using a remote mount turbo system and the oil return will be by the factoryh lift pump

You can see the threaded plug at the end of the head to the outside of the freeze plug in the picture below. There is one on each end of the heads. Fortunately I took pictures during the rebuild so I can go back and look to see if I remembered to put plugs in...
I completely forgot about those,
but the picture proves that I did install the plugs...
