now that I get to do this again.
I will be doing some things that I wish I had done with the current failed short block.

thinking about running my turbo rods with 020 over slugs.
I have the balancer and flywheel

or should I just stick my N/A rotating assembly in?

reasons for questioning this...

1, less meat on the piston for the turbo set up.

2, N/A rotating assembly has 030 over pistons. and I don't want to hog this block straight to 030,
as it is a ****** bore.

3, the block I currently have slated for this, is a N/A block,
do the turbo pistons require more oiling or some sort of oil galley mod?

if I go with the turbo rods, I will be buying 020 over slugs, milling them down, and ceramic coating them.
then getting balanced.

is there anything im missing?

I'm pretty sure Gary updated his NA block to turbo spec. He probably can answer most of these questions. The only question I have is why go 20 over? Do you think you need to bore it 20 to clean it up? Any reason to not just run standard slugs?

i havnt been able to find 010 over slugs.
but i want to bore this block, i don't want to just stick another rotating assembly in one.

Brian... Any non turbo rotating parts will handle any turbo we hang on these engines. Thats not to say if you hang a maxed out turbo off some huge engine can this or any rotating parts keep up. As for turbo slugs needing anything special.. Nope. they work fine with the standard oiling systems. the non turbo blocks are same as the turbo blocks no matter what has been published about the crank webs being 110 thousands wider.. How the hell do you measure a non machined surface and state that its 110 thousands wider. My na block actually thru a rod that chipped the bottom edge of a cylinder. the spaniard I purchased this from said..."Ess got lot a miles on it from trips to Tijuana where I live." This peckerwood lived up on Hesperia top of Cajon pass.... It was an ebay buy for $87.50... A member here suggested I should drive this back and tell him I painted the engine and its running great.. Thanks you bud... The little ****** had covered the small cut in the oil pan with dirt and road crap. engine was sitting outside not covered and no accessories on engine...
