Need a rebuilder in Los Angeles

Hi everyone,
I decided to keep my truck and rebuild the engine. Does anyone know a good rebuilder in LA? I live in Chino California but figured the best rebuilders must be in LA.

Also my friend was saying the water in the oil could be coming from my oil cooler not from cavataion, is that possible and how can I tell where the water is coming from.

Water in the oil is almost always cavitation or a blown head gasket/cracked head or block. If it was oil in the coolant I would say def. the oil cooler. If you are going to fix that block it's not going to be cheap assuming it's cavitated. That's because these things are parent bore and the only permanent fix for cavitation is dry sleeving the engine. Figure on $100-150 per hole. You should use icanfixall's rec'd shop cause not everybody can do a dry sleeve they aren't basic machining more of an advanced technique. It might be cheaper and easier to find a used 6.9 or buy a 7.3 or 6.9 longblock or shortblock. There's about $800 for sleeving, another $150 in machine work for pressure check and magnafluxing the block and heads and then a basic set of pistons and rings would be around 500-1000 bucks. I don't know what you could get a shortblock 7.3 for but it should be something to at least look into.

Depending on how many miles are on the motor and was the coolant kept up will tell you whats wrong. My guess with as much info you hae provided tells me its the oil cooler. The o-rings harden over time and if the motor was run really hot they most certainly could be shot. I'm in Chino Hills several times a week taking care of some retired horses for the wifey so pm me a time and date. I will look over the problem and try to sort this out for you.
