I made a post about my 1986 f250 6.9 running like crap a while ango. Ended up being bad fuel pump. Well I decided to swap in a 1993 7.3 turbo because I want more power. I’ve done the 7.3 serpentine setup swap on other bullnose trucks, but not with factory Tach like my truck. I am gonna keep serpentine setup, but I’m trying to figure out how much of the old alternator/tach wire harness I need to keep. I was being a dummy and I cut yellow and the red wire in that goes to tach plug thinking it was alternator related. Now I’m thinking maybe that goes to the cluster. I’m wondering if I’m right and I just made big dingus move? Not an huge deal I can reconnect stuff. Just sucks cutting factory wire harness and having it look like crud spliced back together. Also wondering what the thick yellow wire is for that runs into cab from alternator. Maybe someone has a wiring book and they can drop some pictures of factory alternator and tachometer wiring? That would be great. Thanks
