More smoke after declogging filter

I've noticed after I got the filter unclogged the other week it smokes more then before. Mostly white when you get on it but more gray when under load.
First pull was second through third up a slight hill then 2 to the limiter.
Is this too much smoke?
It didn't have this much before even when it wasn't clogged.
140ish k on the truck. I already suspect either timing or the pump/injectors due to bad economy.

May be turned up a little by p.o. as it has a banks powerpack on it.

Air filter? Fuel filter?
Did you replace it? Or spray it out?

Unless you know the history of your fuel system, this may be a good place to start. First, get the timing checked. Then try some Hot Shotz Diesel extreme to see what that does. If it's still making you happy, then it may be time to have your injectors pop tested. Do all of these before you spend the money on new injectors and a pump.
