now you guys know that honest research takes time. I need to make duplicate runs of varying lengths with and without a load with both the stock pump and the Moose pump so that you guys can have accurate info.

i got a reman'd pump off e-bay for $275 from Diesel Care And performance. i looked for a high output/performance pump but came up w/ nothing. i guess i'll see how long it takes me to get the truck together. how much will it cost to redo a already reman'd pump? is it worth it on a BRAND NEW motor, or is it better to break in on a stock pump?

Hey now... I resemble that remark...

But actually I broke each one in different and the only one that squeezed out more mileage (not much more but still a little more) was when I didn't care and drove it from the shop door trying to roll smoke.

Oh that was the one that died right before we bought the house up here in Fort Wayne (about 6 month before) that was spring of 2001. That one got repaired with a long block purchased from a national rebuilder (I can't remember their name but purchased it from Flowery Branch, GA.) The replacement engine was the one that got the most abuse... Water injection and I didn't care if I blew that one up so it was full throttled before it got 2 miles down the road, and was put to work pulling a boat the following weeks.
