Sadly I've already tried, not even a sputter.
Ok, I went out and took # 7 (3 on drivers side) off and used my old #1 line and hooked an injector up to it. It did spray an ok pattern. It wouldn't hit on ether earlier today but I'll try later after I top the batteries back off.Okay so what I would try next is take one of your injectors out and take an injection line out of its clamp and flip it so the injector is facing up. Setup an injector like that and turn the engine over and see if the pump is actually opening the injector. Usually if you have fuel the ether will get it to start
He just said he already tried this, if it wasn’t free to return to tank the ip wouldn’t be able to build pressure to open the injectorsOk, earlier in the thread I posted this but it wasn’t acknowledged. I literally JUST went through this. Truck ran ok off the factory tanks but leaked fuel horribly. I put new injector return lines, new glow plugs, new facet duralift and moved fuel line to a 5 gallon can hanging off the passenger fender but I blocked off the the return line to the tank. Truck would NOT start, wouldn’t even hit on ether. I scratched my head for days. Figured I’d try running a return to the can on the fender, truck fired and ran instantly

I'm running the return line off of the pump into a water bottle to make sure that is not a problem.Ok, earlier in the thread I posted this but it wasn’t acknowledged. I reckon I'm going to dig deeper into the timing then, just to make sure. Will also pick up a compression gauge, should have done that already.boy it sure sounds like timing to me. does it look like the cam timing could have been altered? Not ip timing to cam. but cam to crank. any different gaskets on pan or front cover?
You have fuel so its timing or no compression or no air.
I'll be sure and look for that tomorrow. Thanks. If you have fuel dripping off of the starter, exhaust, and bellhousing while cranking, it sounds to me likr it's comung out of the drain hole at the back of the valley pan. It runs down on the starter side. Is your injector pump leaking? If there's a lot of crap built up in the valley pan, you might not be able to see it running down the valley pan. Maybe you could use an inspection mirror to check the bottom side of the injector pump for drips. You will need to hold the mirror just right and shine a light on it so it will reflect under the pump, but it can be done.
Check your compression tester on a known good engine. If its good, then test again after adding oil to each cylinder. If numbers go up that would indicate bad rings. What would ya'll do first?
