Jsyk, it made a chuffing sound with the glow plugs out, but it did not make the least bit of a knocking noise. A ticking sound maybe, but little or nothing more than that

The injectors were in and getting fuel when it was chuffing

It seems awful chuffy, but could that noise possibly be injectors? Just a shot in the dark.

Watched the video, definitely sounds like it's chuffing badly, when you Rev it up and the whole engine shakes, clear indication of dead hole.

What you can do to isolate which hole is not firing, when it's running crack a fuel line. It will essentially turn off that cylinder. Do one at a time until you find the hole that doesn't have an engine noise change when the line is cracked loose.

Once identified, could swap injector with another hole, and retest. See if problem follows.

So I’ve done this and it seems like injectors didn’t really make much difference. Still chuffed without any of the eight not hooked up.

So that’s why I thought I probably wasn’t injectors but I don’t really know so just asking

On each hole when I disconnected the injector, it bog down a little bit and rattled and shook harder

But no real way to tell which hole it was?

Sounds like it's time for a compression test.

Is it a constant stream of black smoke? Or a puff puff?

Finally got to watch the video.

Can you feel it blowing back out the intake?

In the video it really sounds like an exhaust leak on 1 cylinder. I know that doesn't explain the missing or black smoke.

I don't think that injectors will cause the miss or the chuffing sound. It is slightly possible that you have two separate problems that are happening at the same time. Personally, I would treat it like two separate problems. I would get it running right with no missing or chuffing first. Then see if that affects the smoke issue.
