Ok. How does one go about testing the clutch on a compressor by jumping it? I'm talking with the compressor removed from the truck. I have what I believe us a good compressor but want to check the condition of it and drain out the oil that's in it.

Take a battery charger and clip the leads to the clutch terminals.

Thank you. I eventually figured out with the help of calvin that the one terminal needed to be grounded. I thought the housing was where it received its ground from. I was wrong. Compressor passed the first test.

If you are doing any re-wiring of the harness, make sure you incorporate the diode and it has to be installed the correct direction out near the clutch. Put it in wrong and it will smoke the diode or blow the fuse, or both.
