I've owned two IDI's for the last 16 years and I now have a problem I can't figure out. About two weeks ago I noticed when I hit a bump on the road I got a very weak and very occasional surge in rpm's.
Late last week I also noticed a slight decrease in rpms at idle, 50 to 100 rpms at most
This weekend I was towing a small enclosed trailer and noticed I didn't have the usual pulling power, it acted like a filter change was needed!
Got home changed out the stock filter and auxilary filter back on the frame.
Up until two weeks ago I had NO lack of power and quick starts, cold or warm engine.
The ening has 190,000 miles on it, oreiginal IP and injectors, new GP's
Today in between shifts the truck died and that was it! I drove the truck twice since changing the filters, once for 20 miles and once for 50 miles.
I run a Holley Red electric fuel pump and have plenty of fuel coming out of the shrader valve. I pullled off one injector line at the injector and have NO fuel coming out while cranking.
Can the Fuel Shut Off solenoid fail, it does click when power is applied?
Any ideas?
