IDIBRONCO
Here's some more info. First, I noticed that even though it had been less than 2 hours since I parked the truck, there wasn't even 1/2 of the fuel that drained out of the hard line on the back of the IP as there should have been. That just helped to reinforce my theory that, somehow, the IP was putting too much fuel back through the return lines and that's why I was running of fuel and couldn't keep fuel pressure to the IP.
Earlier, while I was removing the new IP from the Superduty, the first odd thing that I saw was that the wrong bolts were holding the IP to the gear. They were hex headed bolts with 1/2" heads. They were fine threaded and the threads weren't damaged so it didn't bother me. I did reuse the correct bolts when installing it on my engine. Then, as I was going to take the top off of the IP, I saw that the wrong screws were holding it on. Instead of 5/16 hex headed screws with a slot thought the heads, they were torx headed screws. Well they worked so I reused them. Finally, after I removed the forgotten timing adapter from #1 on t he donor (I had 6.9 injectors lines and had never installed one), I noticed that the brass part was MIA on it. I've never seen that before either. I guess that, for now, I'm going to keep running this IP and hold off on buying another and a set of injectors. It may last me 10 days, it may last me 10 years. Who knows?
