Installing New Auto Meter Oil Temp Guage

I was wondering if anyone has ever installed a oil temp guage on their IDI. I need to know where is the best spot for the Temp sensor on the 7.3 IDI non-turbo model? Thanks!

i put mine in the the oil cooler. theres a 1/2 inch npt plug on the head. temp runs about 10 degs hotter than my water temp.

I have one. I put it on my bypass filter, but you could put it anywhere you would put an oil presure sender.

I would like to add a bypass to mine, where is a good source for them? Plus after adding the gauge on my pillar pod the length is kind of short, only reaches to the drivers side area about two feet

I tig welded a 1/8 inch coulping in the oil pan when I was rebuilding.
