ok another question about the injector pump

what is the little white button looking thing for that is above the injector lines on the back of the injector pump?

mine seems to be wet like it may be weeping fuel

Probably the injection pump torque screw.. That should not be leaking any fuel. Do not attempt to remove it because its set to a specific number of truns with a lock nut. Someone will post up a pic so you know what it looks like inside the pump.

Your attachment isn't working.

I'll toss in a picture of the rear of the IP, to help you identify. Is it the thing between two injector lines, the thing with red a bit above the lines, the thing further up in the center with no color added, or the thing to the left of that with a bit of red?

Attachment working fine now.. Sure is the torque screw... Don't mess with it. Your leak looks like its from somewhere else by the pics.

That is not the torque screw. It is the guide stud. Break that plastic cap off of there, and see if that nut will tighten slightly. The nut tightens against an o ring.

we cleaned it all up with brake cleaner the day before and the next day using a bright flashlight I could see fuel weeping around the cap. I agree it looks much worse than it is for sure. I don't want to make it unusable for long , my sons other truck is down for repairs and he needs this one

This place is Great!!

Happy you found the leak. Here is what's inside. The blanked out white is what you asked about. 2nd pic. The solenoid cap is off, the nut you tightened holds that shaft in the center, with the spring on it.

Now is a good time to clean off the injection pump so you can see if there is any other leaks.
