Oh ok I'll try that other solenoid.
and I'll search powermasters.

BTW, I do have a spare new starter solenoid..should I plan on chucking that in or wait?

The power Master 9050 is what is called for for the 6.9, 7.3 engines.

The Power Master 9051 is for the Power Stroke engine.

It is the same starter, take off the spacer on the 9051, and it
will fit on the IDI engines.

Here is a listing for the 9051

Here is the 9050.

Strange the 9050 is $11 more. same seller

There was a seller a month ago selling them for $197

I have one on my 86 for the past 4 years, works great.

Thanks!

I did end up swapping out the solenoid with a new one.

For jumping this to bleed, does key need to be in a certain position?

Ky85, you shouldn't be jumping that one in your situation. That is your glow plug relay. Your starter solenoid is up on the side. There is a small positive battery cable that runs from the battery to the solenoid.

I located the correct solenoid, the terminals are on opposite sides, use a wire or?

Only ever jumped a solenoid on a b3000 and that was flathead across both terminals on top.

Appreciate the patience to all assisting, I only get about 40 minutes a day to tinker if I'm lucky.
I am gonna breakthrough, cant wait to drive it with some upgraded fuel components.

Also, this little guy is empty, wondering what it's for? Fuse perhaps, wonder what rating.

The fuse holder is an add on so you'll have to trace out the wires to find out what it goes to. You could put a fuse in it, but there may be a good reason why it's empty so use caution. To jump your starter solenoid, disconnect the little wire and then jump power from your hot terminal to the terminal that the little wire was on. That little wire is what activates the solenoid when you turn the key to start. It also doesn't take a lot of power to activate it so it's pretty easy on whatever you use to jump it. Don't forget to hook the small wire back up after you're done with the solenoid jumping or you'll wonder why the starter no longer works with the key.

Ok I got an hour or so to check on this.

I'm sorry, but I'm very much electrically challenged, the entire concept is one I have always struggled with.

Which wire gets removed? 1, 2, 3?
Thanks, I charged both Batts overnight so I'm hoping to nail this out

#2. #3 looks like someone ran a new hot wire from the battery. #1 is the hot wire that runs down to your glow plug relay. You remove wire #2, jump from where #3 and #1 attach. You can just use a screwdriver for this.
In your video, it doesn't sound like your starter is turning very fast. It sounds just OK at first, but it sounds like it slows down fairly quickly to me.
