I haven't posted in a long while cause my truck has been running great but now I have the all to common stiff **** brake pedal due to very low vacuum. My vac pump and booster are only a 1.5 yrs old I have looked all over the vacuum log and all the 1.5 yr old lines coming off the the log and everything looks up to par.

How often do these damn vac pumps go out? I know that if your booster leaks a little like my old one did but your vac pump is new the brakes still work good. Unfortunately both my pump and booster are not old at all.

Also I did check the (check valve) on the booster and it's working solid.
How can I tell witch of the two are the problem guys!!!?

Make sure the hoses are all well attached and not split at the ends. May just be my luck but I've had two different trucks wind up with splits that caused a leak.

"
This pump fits the following applications:

  • Ford 7.3 L IDI and Powerstroke from 1994 and 1995
Our part number 4958 replaces Ford F4TZ-2A451-A."

Also, it's just the drive, not the vacuum pump part.... so if his doesn't suck now, it won't suck after he moves his non-sucking, sucker to the new drive unit that doesn't include a new sucker, from a vendor that sucks........ (or at least has in the past)
