Hypermax Cowl Size

Does anybody know the dimensions of the opening for the hypermax cowl induction?

I like the fact that it is form fitting to the firewall, but i can not understand spending $100 on two pieces of plastic.

It's been a while since I installed mine, but I want to say it was approx 5" x 2.5"............ If no one else chimes in, before tonight, I'll see if I can measure mine when I get home. Don't have the truck with me at work today.

So I picked up one of these from Lowes....

How sturdy are these things?

How far down the firewall does the cowl cavity go?

OK, went out and took some measurements. The hole is 6.25" by 2.25". The plastic molded cowl part that attaches to the firewall extends out over the top of the brake vacuum booster about 8". From there a flexible hose connects to the air box.

Look down into the cowl from the windshield. Its about 6 inches deep but not all the way across. Its not really deep at all...
