Going to look at a turbo

There is a guy local parting out a truck with a factory turbo. The deal so far sounds great because of his asking price. When I go to look at it, what all should I make sure is there. Im not worried if something minor is missing, but if something is missing and is a PITA to find. He did say it dont have the air box.

I'm sure you could find them on ebay but from a dealer=$$$$$$$$$. they are about $280. to me that seems like a bit much for a couple castings.

I have a Factory Ford airbox I won't need, that I can sell you.

Check to make sure the crossover pipe and the up pipe (I think) are there, and the intake hat.

ITs actually still on the truck he is parting out...he told mr $300 I can have everything for the turbo.

grab everything! Turbo, all the piping to and from the turbo (atleast a decent section of the down pipe so you can attach your exhaust or grab the exhaust too), valve cover, turbo, turbo pedestal, cross over pipe, the cast iron y pipe and whats left of the air intake.

Also make sure to get the grommet for the oil drain. The kits pretty simple and doesn't have a whole lot to it. Had mine on in less than 3-4 hours and that was working really slow because it was hot outside.

I GOT THE TURBO!!!

Everything came out nice and easy, all except getting the pipe out, we ended up raising the cab up and it came right out. Im going to get everything all cleaned up and try to get a bunch of pictures...

Get her in! Make a custom intake!

I could not drive an IDI n/a anymore. I love being turbocarhged.
