Why this got bumped I can’t imagine. Another bandaid HACK. If your vent valves are not working just put them back to stock. It’s sooooo much easier, cheaper, better, faster. Then when you have issues you’re not trying to chase down what junk has been done or not. Yes your tank will fill fast but you will still have issues with vacuum in the tank if your original vents don’t work. I’d venture to say ford knew more about this then any one on this site.

I'm going to venture out and say you drink Ford's cool aid too much and have no sense of adventure or creativity. Guess you'll be the only one with the most 100% stock ford out there in the world :flipa

@Nero DITTO x 10......No wait, DITTO x 100!!!
BTW #1: I heard FoMoCo's Cool Aid has become soured & full of fake color & funny looking virus malware.
BTW #2: I keep getting SPAM calls & Texts from a FoMoCo "representative" trying to pick my brain about all the better things & ways I've learned and figured out about building & redoing these older & newer Fords, especially since they figured out that I've learned soooo much since joining OB!! (Apparently they somehow can't get onto OB Forum to learn anything better)

Well my barn queen has only 60k factory miles, I removed the first factory part besides the tires ( coolant lines.) from it just recently after nursing the bricknose tanks with good oem breathers when this one did that crap, I opted to upgrade it with stuff any red blooded American should be able to repair...
Yes they're only original ONCE however ' there's usually big room to improve on the bean counters tally..
You may have a valid point, but I bet the fact there are guys who are looking to fix this issue trumps your individual Opinion.

Or he uses a chat ai for his responses... At this point I'm committed to keep trolling him, but I bet he's got me blocked now.
I don’t know. He does have some constructive, helpful things to say sometimes, but seems to figuratively run into oncoming traffic for the most part here.

I’m not perfect, and will admit that I’ve had a bullish attitude before, so I must acknowledge that it’s probably not my place to talk about this… judge not lest ye be judged… judge all you want, cuz I don’t care whether or not I am, and am definitely do plenty judging of my own. There goes my bullish attitude again…:sorry:-Flame Thr:popcorn

But I don’t spew forth bot speak (at least I don’t think so)

Instead I overdo my projects for lack of faith in the OEM well beyond the point of reason, and certainly well beyond his ‘preaching’. Nobody’s wrong for either way IMO. My truck is my truck, your truck is yours. Just don’t carolina squat it or do anything else so obviously dangerous and we can be cool.

One characteristic unlike the bots I’m thinking of is that he doesn’t argue back with something ridiculous. He seems to drop the subject or counter with something plausible on rare occasions.

But, maybe, if he’ll allow such an extension of humor, jussst mayyyybe, he’ll let us crown him as… “OB’s Local Bot” :joker: whether or not he actually is one. My sense of humor often outruns my limited spool of logic, but I would gladly accept such a title in his position. Just sayin. Call me and my mom whatever you want, I’ll cry you a river so dry you’ll wonder if the Dust Bowl returned. :Thumbs Up;Poke:joker::popcorn:rotflmao

Well said.
I can respect differing opinions, it is what keeps the old gears turning. Seeing things from others perspective. But to swear by 'Ford Almighty did no wrong?' Nah. Let's just remember how great the 6.0 PSD was in its stock form... Anyways... Happy Monday all :peelout

When I was shop forman I made sure that everyone under me knew there was no such thing as a stupid question.

I found the person afrad to ask a question was the one who would make a mistake and ruin the part he was machining.

never liked journeymen that made fun of or refused to answer questions by the new guy or apprentice.

Sharing knowledge is the foundation of this forum!!!!!!!!!!

Every thing we know,
we learned from some one else.
True story. When I was a kid, every spring, my dad would defrost the stand up deep freeze by emptying it out and having a fan blow into it. The first year, he told us not to stick out fingers in the fan. My sister did, I just watched her. After that, Dad only told her not to stick her fingers in the fan. Every year she did again. I thought it was funny. See there? My sister taught me not to stick any fingers in a running fan. Especially the old ones with metal blades. :rotflmao

My van has factory fuel tank, neck, etc. I fill on only the first notch with it pulled out of the neck a little.

When it clicks off. Remember I use the slowest setting, I can fit another 5 (FIVE) gallons in there right up to the rim.

No way diesel expands that much. Wonder if they used the same fuel tanks for gas or diesel and just changed the senders….

I should have put new vent valves in when I had the bed off. Doh! Live and learn.
