Hello, I have some accross a problem when tightening stanadyne fuel shut off it tends to stick in the closed position. When loosened to free it up it will leak fuel, has anyone ever ran into this problem?

The only way I can get my truck running is when it is leaking fuel from the studs on the shut off solenoid. It does not seem very tight but is still sticking.

I have replaced the shut off solenoid multiple times as well. The spring on the bottom is being pinched when tightened ever so slightly to stop leaking.

I'm guessing it's not an OEM solenoid?

put a spacer on the stud, something non-conductive so it sits a bit lower. Fiber gasket material comes to mind.

Viton O-ring ? My fear is anything in the fuel system better not disintegrate upon exposure to diesel fuel; such disintegrants moving along to plug up the fuel system in other places.

I nearly had that problem when I used the wrong kind of rubber hose as fuel hose. I was lucky. It began weeping before total disintegration. That nearly cost me a teardown for detritus removal.
