I dont know. Some seem like they have good whistle, while others dont. I dont know LOL

I'm wanting to do a custom intake. I was riding around in a 99 powerstroke with a DIY intake with a NAPA 6637 filter and man did that thing whistle loud out the intake.

I wish it sounded like the one in my 04 dodge. With the strait pipe when that thing hits 40 psi you swear lift off is on its way. I'm going to miss that truck.

I think it has to do with the exhaust housing and downpipe the factory turbo's have that cut down on noise

The compressor wheel that russ sold me makes some nice sounds through the firewall, but exhaust noise is all rumble:mad:

Sounded better without a muffler and turbo spool sounds were audible, but I needed to cut down on the drone in the cab, so I put a muffler on it. Still have a drone, but now now turbo wistle through the tail pipe-cuss-cuss

Things we worry about:rolleyes:LOL

I can't hear my turbo at all.

Do you have a factory turbo or aftermarket? The factory turbos were purposefully restricted so they wouldn't outperform a stock powerchoke. The downpipe needs replaced and it should flow much better. Some people say that turbo itself is detuned. If that's the case, you can buy a direct replacement from ATS since ford had them make the original. Get that thing thumpin and quit missing the dodge, goatboy! :backoff :rotflmao:rotflmao

i must have had a good leak at the exhaust flange. when i first put the turbo on and especially after my 3inch flex dp, my truck sounded like a semi with staright pipes. tons of whistle. but halfway back from the deer hunting trip, the whistle stopped. it still has the same power and smoke levels as before, just no whistle now. i did get a little crazy with the 2 stroke oil on the trip there...... i still need to get a boost gauge.
