I can hear mine running during the wts sequence but it's not overwhelming. It's about the same or slightly lower decibel level as the glow plug solenoid clicking. Raining now but I'll try to post a video of it running later.

ETA: That's about the same as mine.

Yes. That is normal. It's a solenoid operated diaphragm. It's pretty loud, until you start the engine, then you can't hear it over very thing else!

Mine makes an audible clicking noise with engine off key on. I have it mounted on the inner fender about a foot away from the filter. The way yours is mounted may have something to do with the noise. Just a thought.

I think at this point, the only thing between him and the firewall is air. That may be part of the difference. Remember, this truck is still a "kit" and he hasn't finished gluing it together yet. I don't think is has a hood, or interior, or windows, or...... or...... or...... at this point. So I think it is pretty much out in the open with nothing around it........

I have mine mounted to the frame rail just after the fuel tank switching valve. It has a 1/4 inch thick piece of rubber between it and the frame. Barley hear it. I can hear it pressurize the lines when I'm waiting for the plug to warm up on cold starts.

your over thinking it.remember you'll never hear it once the engine is running.hearing it while waiting for the glow plugs is a good way to insure all systems are go.

Mine is mounted on my fuel filter head. I can hear it while waiting for the glowplugs, but as others have said, one the engine gets going, you will never hear it. Also mine has seemed to have quieted down over time. Not a lot but some. once your running you will never hear it.
