FWIW, the quote I got from a local high-volume axle shop to re-gear the 10.25 rear from 4.10 to 3.55 on my truck was roughly $800 out the door.

Which is why I'd be doing it myself.

Holy cow I did my D50 first time ever setting up gears which is much more labor than a 10.25... the bill for that would have been near $2,000 if an easy one is $800!

I looked back and that price was for a full rebuild, master install kit, gears + wheel seals.

That doesn't sound quite so bad then.

Just a small update here. Since I REALLY hate all the BS that's going on in the country right now, I decided to push back a little bit and bought some new fender badges for the old girl. It took them a long time to get here, but since they came from China, I'm guessing that they were sitting sideways in the Suez Canal for a while. Surprisingly, they are real metal, not plastic. They're probably pot metal, but it should still last longer than plastic.

I don’t know why I just noticed this but that bullnose was probably a looker before all that happened. I absolutely love that color

She was. It was in really good shape except for the passenger's side door that got damaged when the tire blew out right in front of it. The Ford emblem without a cover in the grille and the broken place in the grille were both from hitting a deer. It looked better than my Blue Truck, but mechanically, the Blue Truck's better by far. She even looked good with some icing on the cake. I don't have many pictures of her, but here's a few. Don't ask why I seemed to always take pictures from the passenger's side.
