This truck has about 20k on a rebuilt tranny but when it shifts its a really bad clunk, sounds like it hurts.

Is this normal for the transcommand? If not what is the fix?

Could this of caused the flexplate problem in the old engine?

thanks

Check the FIPL (Fuel Injection Position Lever) it will more than likely need to be adjusted.

I actually dialed mine in so that it would shift pretty firm, almost a neck snapper. But some don't like that for what ever reason...

I say unplug the TransCommand and install the "bypass plug" to isolate the problem first. That way you know if it is th eaftermarket shift unit, or the factory stuff that is causing the problem.

Where do I find this bypass plug?

If it is the FIPL where is it located, on the tranny or on the engine?

thanks

The bypass plug is one of those loose items that you lose. I keep mine in the glovebox so It's always with the truck. You can't just unplug the transcommad without the bypass plug. Is your OD light blinking? Is the bulb good in the OD light? The FIPL is a touchy SOB
The FIPL is located on the drivers side of the injecton pump If you it has the torx srew heads it's T27. It's not in every tool kit.

BANKS

Just got off the phone with banks, thay say you can hard wire the bypass with the orange and yellow wires. Maybe I can talk the old ladie into holding the wire in, while I drive down the road.

As the FIPL goes, Any directions for the Injection pump.

I am a 1 month old IDI owner so I am new to this engine bay.

thanks

od light

"Is your OD light blinking? "

before reading this I never would of thought to look.

But the answer is YES it is blinking, and when trying to push nothing happens.

FIPL = MOTORCRAFT Part # CX1448

thanks

I took my Bro in Law for a ride, and the old C6 has a nice bangin shift kit in it, He told me that if it shifted a little harder, he could reallign his back.

That is how I like it!,....

FIPL

Got the multi meter and the low end is at 1.15 and wot is at 4.08.

Shifts a little better but still clunky and the OD light is still flashing.

Is there a reset for the OD light?

What do the numbers have to be at to get that neck snapping shifting, I want to avoid this, I want grandpa smooth shifting(just not neck snapping)

thanks
