At least Dealers didnt build the turbo, I have seen 2 of their engines that the sleeves came loose in.

They were a rebuilder from minneapolis. They put a sticker or plate over the ats on the air cleaner. Same turbo setup as a factory jobber.

Thought it was Reviva. Looked like they had some good deals...but sleeves coming loose?! Are you serious? Then again I hear it takes a seriously good machinist to do dry sleeves correctly.

Reviva has a bad name for that happening, Dave s. on FTE had 3 engines drop the sleeves and the 4th he refuesd to drop in his truck, so he got his money back and built a turbo 6.9

Yep, familiar with Dave Spounagle's build. I'd say that build is the hottest 6.9 I know of on here or FTE. I'd love to build a better IDI than that, but I'd settle for just that good! I have my ideas I've floated around here, no secret, just need about 3000 bucks and a good 6.9 core and a DB4 for a marinized GM 6.5 to rob for parts. At least I think that a custom build up like that could be potentially very cool....

this is what I found under the hood of a truck I recently picked up.
before it died a horrible death, it had a serious drinking problem from what i understand. It drank oil like it was having it's last supper.
