DB2 IP mechanical shut off?

Just curious if anyone, has seen a mechanical shut off for out pumps?

I'd like to have a mechanical shut off instead of the electrical model.

Just thinking out loud here so to speak.

Nope tractor here has a mechanical shut off and I'm like eh...that's kewl...wonder??? that's all

I suppose one would have to drill through the top cover of an IP, install a bushing/seal and some kind of lever/arm to replicate the movement of the FSS. I would try if I had the proper tools, DB2 pump knowledge and a clean shop.

The B and H series Landcruisers all have a mechanical shutdown lever which is controlled by the ignition via the EDIC electric shunting motor which moves the lever to either the on, off or overfuel position (for starting). I simply disconnect the EDIC motor and run a cable to my shutdown lever. They are the easiest conversions out there!!! Even thought they are not truly an electric shutdown to begin with....but still.

It wouldn't be hard to rig up, but the big question is... why? If you were to modify the pump, then you wouldn't have a good core anymore, making future exchanges difficult.

Take a look at the Hypermax smoke puff limiter. It uses a governor cover that is specially made with a bore for the aneroid to fit in. If you could get just the cover and make a bushing to fit the bore, then slide a rod through the bushing with a hook of some sort that would pull the metering valve into the shut off position when the attached cable was pulled. I've seen a Stanadyne cover with a mechanical override for the eso, but it didn't have provision for the cold start advance solenoid.

Because I'm that way....or have you not figured that out yet...BTW. I've the IP's boxed and forgot to get wife to take em down today...but was rushed...damn black friday... I've got parts coming in in week or so, I'll try get her to ship IP's then for yer cores...I didn't forget...just didnt get no round tuits at walmart to get around to it
