Prepping for smf clutch swap on ‘88 7.3/zf5 4x4 non turbo. Looking for the bare minimum parts to start off with - am I missing anything? Timken TOB is on back order so just going National bearings.

@Double-S-Diesel its been reported lately that the TOB that comes with the luk kit has been of poor quality and fails quickly.

So far looks like you're set. Some people suggest doing the rear main while you're in there, I never have and never had an issue.

Yeah will wait and see about the rear main and any other surprises that await. Hopefully it’ll be a happy path

We used to run Luk kits exclusivity for ford trucks. Never had problems, but that was a long time ago. Don't grease the plastic sleeve on the T/O bearing - run it dry. Also check the collar for wear. There is a collar wear sleeve kit fix. Get this is collar is badly galled. I'd only replace fork or pivot bearing if they are badly worn. Grease both these parts. Check rear main seal while you have flywheel off. Replace the piolot. Add some extra grease in there. No need to do hydraulics unless they are leaking. So the clutch kit and flywheel are the min parts. Others based on what you find. If transfer case has slide in driveline - check that seal before removing driveline. Check fluid levels in trans and transfer case at some point. Probably forgot something, but that should be a good start.
