lOOK very closely and along the top of the picture it does look like it's pressed downward from a side impact there appears a bow in the core for first few rows as I see it on my laptop

Shipping? Amazon ships radiators all the live-long day. Would prob be no more than $20-ish anywhere. But the seller specifies local only cash only.

Expanding the pic, looks pretty straight to me. If the rows were bowed / arced, you'd think the fins would be scrunched.

You Canadians must have very highly calibrated eyes up there Al ;Poke

I wouldn't speak for anything I haven't seen in person, but it looks pretty straight on my screen. Wish I needed one, it's pretty close to me and I've heard these rads are the cats pajamas.

I bought that radiator for my IDI right after icanfixall helped me do a water pump changeout (Still grateful, sir!). Turned out in the end the engine needed a head gasket and maybe more - she ran OK but overheated under towing loads in hot weather, and my buddy up in Oregon swapped me another truck for the IDI, which he intended to use as a farm truck. It just sat most of the time, though. I can personally vouch for the fact that the truck NEVER took any hits before he decided to part it out. He just wasn't using it and wasn't interested in overhauling the 7.3. I know this may not mean much, but just letting you know what I know for what it's worth. I believe you are catching some artifacts of the angle he shot from, plus the distortion of a moderately wide angle lens. I think a good look at the rad will reveal no damage.

icanfixall might be able to message you off line about whether I seemed like a straight-up guy or not. But I think if you go look at the Rodney Red you'll be pretty jazzed about the deal you'll be scoring.

I think Amazon might subsidize shipping a bit on large items (counterbalanced by charging more than necessary on smaller items) so that they'll sell. If a radiator cost $100+ to ship, would you buy it online if you had a choice?

Thank you for the info ;Sweet I don't necessarily need a radiator, but that's such a good price that it's almost worth driving up there to snag it :D

And I'm the dude who posted the ad.

Sorry for seeming a bit stalkerish, lotza, but I happened to google your rather distinctive handle after I wrote the 'oxidation' email, found this thread and thought it was funny because I knew Jim used to hang out here, and so I sent an IM telling him that after a couple months somebody was finally interested in the Rodney Red which, lo and behold, came from OB, and sent him the link to the thread.

So, in answer to people's questions, my zoom was set to wide-angle when I took the photo, which distorts straight lines. And the reason I don't do shipping is that companies can afford to have custom boxes made up to protect their products, but I would have to cobble something together that would hopefully keep the radiator intact under possibly the most dire of shipping conditions. And even then there's always the risk of someone claiming that it had arrived damaged, and I really don't need a broken radiator returned to me.

So... 1. shipping is just too much hassle, 2. there's no urgency in selling it and the Portland craigslist is just fine by me, and 3. I genuinely prefer to sell face-to-face since my goal is to make sure that, in the end, everyone is completely happy with the deal.

And it really is a happy-making deal.

WElcome to all the new faces here first off. Secondly hello Jim once again. I do recall helping you on one of the hotest days of the year. I recall this was your fathers truck and he was not able to drive it any longer so you got it. I really did enjoy helping you that day too. Helping others is what I do here and in many other venues.
I'm hoping that Russ comes in here soon and buys this. I'm guessing I should probably contact him about it..

Would you, if it cost $15M to ship? No. Of course, neither one is anywhere near true. Both UPS and USPS will ship 25 lb across the country for about $40.

Gotta love the seasonal backgrounds.
