Going to look at one is these tonight, possibly tomorrow depending on the seller.

First off I'm not looking for a dually but I've read there's a very strong possibility that Centurion used adaptors. Is there a way to tell without pulling off a wheel?

Anything else I should know about these Centurions before I head out?

I've had 2 Centurions F 350, there are no rear wheel adapters that I know of. One in my Sig. and an 84. Don't know where you got that info, I've never heard of it.
What year is it? Is it a Hauler?

Centurion rarely does anything to the engine or axles unless it's a special request.

Centurion mostly just fancies up the interior. If it's a Hauler, then the bed is replaced with a flat bed and 5th wheel or goose neck ball, extra fuel tanks, tool boxes, storage, stuff like that, but there all by special order.

I read it on another forum, they had pictures to back it up but who knows. I don't know anything about these at all so trying to learn a bit first.

It's a 94 IDIT from what I'm told. Seller does not know much of anything at all. Still waiting on pictures and a vin from them. Apparently it's "not ready yet" so I'll have to wait until tomorrow. It hasn't ran in a while and has a flat, my guess is they want to clean it up and try to start it up first.

It's close enough that I don't mind driving out there for nothing so I may as well at least have a look.

Ford has been making 4 X 4 duallys for years.

since 1999.:D
(in pickup form)

good research NW_Iron.your on the right track.

im trying to think of an easy way for you to spot a true dually rear vs adapters.i could tell right off the bat without a tape measure.the distance between the spring mount and the brake backing plate is much, much greater than the distance between the spring mount and backing plate on a srw sterling.by several inches.
if you take a tape with you,you might be able to tell if the distances between the backing plates is approx 59" if it's not close, then this means its a srw with wheel spacers.
notice a pic i took of the drw axle before i installed it in chip truck.here you can see a good 7-8 inches between the shock mount and the backing plate.looks like a solid 4 1/2 - 4 3/4 between backing plate and spring mount.if the distance isn't anywhere near these, then it's a srw axle w/adapters..........you should know though cent used good grade spacers.hub centric arrowcraft.the front arrowcraft are imo much better than oem dually rim hubs too.if you wanted a true drw axle will bolt right in.if you only plan to tow with the truck then nothings wrong with rear adapters either.for hauling heavy you would really want the true dually rear but they're $500-1k+ typically.

lol am I? I'll find out soon and post what I find out.

So dies anybody know if I can look for adaptors without pulling a wheel? I'm thinking probably not but hoping there is a way to tell. Maaaaaybe if the wheels aren't solid I can blast some brake cleaner through one of the wheel vents and hopethat if they did use adaptors they are aluminum. Backup plan, maybe should be my first plan, is to try and match the diff to the door tag then cross reference that to what diffs had a DRW option and hope that gives it away.

What diff should I look for on a 94' F350? Wold the VIN say DRW or SRW?

Perfect! I'll just bring a tape and get underneath the rear. I don't plan to do a lot of towing but I will do some.

you'll find,they used a factory crew cab,4wd,srw truck.

Isnt the front dually front K member/frame entirely different too?

the front D60 axles are the same axles and f350 4wd frames are all the same too.
the difference is just the hubs to accept the drw rims.

Anything else I should know about these Centurions before I head out?

yeah.Centurion conversions have a cool factor that's through the roof so go ahead and don't be afraid to pay a premium.;Really

go for it but, don't pass up the truck if you find a srw sterling w/spacers either though.....just use it to drive down the price with "iv got to pay upwards of a grand to make it right" can be your leverage.;)

lol, yeah that's a plan. I'm already going to use the it needs GP's, batteries, tires to bargain. Also seller claims under 100k, but I want to see proof of that.... oh wait they have digital odo's.... Okay, where's the service records!?
