I am looking at picking up a Wastegated Banks Turbo kit, the turbo needs a rebuild and the downpipe is gone. I was wondering how much will it cost to rebuild the turbo and how hard is it to get parts for? My friends are all automotive majors so im sure we can figure out how to rebuild it, if the parts arnt too bad.

Thanks

Well if its a sidewinder wasted turbo the kit for the seals and bearings will cost around $200.00. Now if the hot wheel is damaged its going to be costly and the parts are difficult to find anywhere. Banks will not have nor sell parts like that. These are simple to rebuild but they must be balanced. At full boost they are running around 110,000 plus rpm. Thats 1833 rpm per second.... You can rebuild it and hope its balanced ok but. The cost of destroying the entire rotating element is going to cost you around $100.00 from Banks....PM typ4... He is very qualified in the upgrading and rebuilding most any turbo.
