so thats 16k with no trailer brakes (i should get some)

also i want good milage making excelent power

I have done 16k with my factory turbo idi...it stuggled on the grades, but it seemed to do its job adequately well...... Hell my 460 did 16k allright...

Cheap economical power to move that (16k) like it aint there... has any one suggested 12 valve?

You should probably go hook 9k to the ass of a first or second gen PSD (probably end up a fuzz past first and not quite second).. and see how you like it.. me thinks that will be the power output you are hoping to achieve...

I guess that is what I am trying to say.. Regardless of how you build your IDI, they will never flat out move a load. AND that is what he sounds like he is trying to do.

They will however move it just fine, AND afford you the opportunity to smell the roses, etc. etc.....

If you want psd power put a turbo on it crank the pump up and stop, you have it,

My truck had more power than my srepdads psd when i was N/A it will plum blow the doors off now, i hate driving the psd now it makes me feel like im driving a 6.5 :puke:

A brass rod thru the injector holes and a hammer will knock out the precups. A steel bar will damage the cups. You don't want to be replacing cups... They are really expensive. I think they are made out of inconel material. They are exposed to lots of errosion and heat... Inconel will take the heat. Its a very hard material but resistant to abraition.... I used to tig weld it in turbine diaphrams and blading. Some tig work was over 10 ft long welds....

you can have all the power in the world, but if you cant make that power connect to the ground(traction) then its USELESS!

What you need is low gears, lockers a D60 and a Good set of mud tires, maybe throw a tubocharger on for a little more grunt, but you dont need a ton of power,
