Do the interior pics look good? Other than the Bordello Red.
The original interior looks like "Oxblood"
Those are good quality after-market seats made by Qualitex, a company that is still in business and still sells essentially the exact same seats.
The front is a 40-20-40, with high back bucket seats that are individually adjustable and on the company's single bench style frame - mounted to the floor only at the 4 outer corners through two special mounting brackets for Ford Trucks. Same seats will fit in Dodge or GM with the proper mounting brackets for those trucks.
The console top flips back to become the back of a center seat - to be like a full bench. The seat part can be pulled up and forward on a hinge to expose a small amount for storage space under it by the frame.
I have the same front seats for my Supercab, same color, only difference is that my seats have a big pocket on the back of each one. A good place to store road maps or folders or a notebook.
Judging from the apparent color fade I would guess-timate that those seats were installed in mid 2000s.
The reason people install after-market seats like these is because the original seats have torn upholstery and the exposed foam deteriorates quickly, requiring a complete re-upholstery job with new foam. It's easier and
quicker to buy an after-market replacement. It looks like the front seats have a lower lumber adjustment option, either mechanical or power. That front seat set up would cost about $1,300 -$1,400 new today, shipped to his location in Washington ($102. shipping) The back seat I'm not sure, probably $450 to $600. depending upon if it's adjustable.
The fact that it has after-market seats leads me to believe
that truck has a lot more than 58,000 miles on it. I would say 158,000.
Actually, for this area, western Washington, I think that's a good and fair asking price for that truck in spite of the misleading ad. The dollar is becoming worth less and less every year so prices have to go up to compensate for that.
However, on Craigs List people tend to ask
way too much for everything out here. There are a lot of greedy people on Craigs List in the greater Seattle area and a lot of liars and crooks. The strong ethics,. honesty and principles that I was taught and raised with in the 1950's and 60's in the Mid-West are virtually non-existent now days.
That truck has probably not been in a Salt Belt State or salt water area so probably just some very light surface rust in spots Underside should be very good, just light surface rust.
He may or may not know that the truck does not have 58K original miles (seems obvious due to the interior swap) Other replacement parts in the engine compartment for one example could quickly confirm that but I think he does realize it so that part of the ad is deceptive in my opinion. He didn't seem to know that the seats are after-market seats so he may not have owned this truck for very long.
That's my opinion of the truck and the information in the ad.
