Altenator question and mystery plug

Any idea what the left tab is for on the altenator, also if anyone has a wiring diagram or can tell me what the 2 prong slot plug goes to on the end of the left bank glow plug goes to would be helpfull

That tab is to hold the harness in place, basically to dampen vibration.

The second pic is the connector for the temp switch right behind the thermostat housing.

What does that temp switch do bc I had to remove it and it was covered in eb weld tab was broke

That temperature switch turns on the high idle solenoid and also powers the cold advance solenoid on the injection pump. Nothing too serious, mine doesn't work and when it did it didn't affect how it runs or started very much.
