Just a simple question. If I leave the ignition key in the On position where everything in the truck is energized, the glow plugs start to warm up. What if you leave the key in that position for say, a couple of minutes, will you burn up the plugs? Or is the controller smart enough to time itself out and shut off. I'm doing some testing of the fuel line electrical circuit, and want everything powered up for a period of time.

Or should I disconnect the power at the controller. Actually where is the power, the other end of the wire, attached to. Prefer not to have to take the air cleaner off to get to it, if that is the best course of action.

I believe the controller times out and GPs are off, maybe after 10 or 15 seconds of cycling. I have done that to run my electric pump and to bleed injectors (cranking engine) after servicing the IP. It is really easy to pull one wire off the controller to disable it though.
