Just got my AutoEnginuity with the Ford bundle.

I cleared my SES light which was a GP fault on bank 1. Prior to getting the AE I replaced a bad GP on cylinder #7. I measure the other 3 GPs and they all are under 2 ohms.

I then ran the AE glow plug test and the fault code came back for GP bank 1 fault.

Should I replace all 8 glow plugs? Could the GP shunt be faulty?

My TDI had this issue (the relay compared GPs 1,2 & 3,4 and always had a CEL even though the GPs were fine, there was a way to rewire the relay so both sides looked balanced according to the ECU).

Also how do you do the tire size adjustment with AE?

I can't remember if you can change tire size on that year with AE, think it might still be done with the PSOM.
On the glow plugs, does yours have the regular glowplug relay like your older truck? Or like this?

Check the harness pins on both sides of the connection.

Check the harness and connectors for damage.

It's much easier to change all the glow plugs in one shot. So, I would change them all.

Sorry it's on the 99. Regular GP relay with shunt (no controller).

I will check and clean the connections. I also got 8 GPs from Ford today, going to do them tonight.

I just don't get how it can say what bank and what plug.
Dunno about the shunt. Guess I've only seen them on the idis.

greenskeeper,

I've asked a similar question about changing the tire size with the AE but didn't get an answer.

I suspect that a change to the speedo/odo has to go through the PSOM as 79jasper says.

And that changing the tire size in the AE modifies its readings accordingly.

I bought a used AE with Ford bundle, and hope Santa brings me a new laptop!

was able to adjust tire size through AE, it's under ABS module and you can change it in 1/2" diameter increments.

I would change em all.
I'm about to change my VCG and while I'm there, the glow plugs, one is showing faulty.
I really wish I could do injectors too

Unlimited changes through AE unlike the OBS cluster based tire change that limits you to 5 or so
