I finally found a dream truck... Although not perfect, I want to see if you think its worth the $$$$...... It has 225,000 Everything is solid on it minus the about an inch of wheel well rust in the back fender wells.... Interior is a 8 out of 10..... No oil leaks... Its a reg cab long bed, dana 60 truck, factory turbo, 5 speed... Shifts thru all the gears perfectly. Black paint still shines... Has brand new 285 bfg's on it....

Oh 1 more thing, does ats still make a 3" turbine outlet housing? I seen they started making them again in 2010 but they aren't on the website

i can't answer about the value of your truck since you're in a rustbelt state and I'm not. underbody corrosion will kill a deal out here.
but as far as ATS is concerned, they no longer support the 6.9/7.3 IDI engine platform.

Can't say what the truck is worth because of no pics. Being a rust belt rig only you can tell if its worth it. On the west coast its not worth very much with rust or for that matter coming from the rust belt.. We really don't know how to protect for that here.

I'll post some pictures of it tonight after I get back inside for the evening... See what you think..... I've been looking for a truck like this for over a year, in every state on craigslist, auto trader, ebay, this is the only one i've found that is under 300 miles away, is a true 1 ton with a dana 60 factory, 5 speed, reg cab, factory turbo, and is all black.... Debating on buying it and just putting fenders and bed sides on it with a full repaint.... Buddy of mine owns the local body shop, does superb work, and said $3000 will prep and paint it

If it is a 94 with a 5sp, it may be a Powerstroke, but I assume you have that figured out already.

From the sounds of it, If you have been actively looking for over a year, and this is the only one that you have found, it is prolly worth it to you, because it is what you want.

This is truly a hard truck to find!

Good Luck,..

Its a true IDI, has the K vin code and he showed me an engine pic..... See what you guys think I'll try to attach some images. Left side has the same rust as the right side.... front fenders look to be clean... I was thinking of offering $3850 unless you guys think its worth the $4500.... Inside looks pretty good too

it doesn't look bad,but it's not exactly pristine either.why then pay over book instead of under? can you find good reasons?

not a bad deal.it's nice to have friends in high places.
but then this means you'll be 4500+3000 for a $7,500 before you get into any mechanical failures.
is the most truck that $7500 can buy in your area really? could you do much better by traveling or buying newer? can you do all the mechanical repairs yourself? this includes an engine replacement sometime in your ownership along with a clutch replacement or two.
will you be paying several hundred/thousands latter for radiator core replacement and or complete floor board replacement?
you have to be very careful when buying older, because as a rule of thumb, the older the vehicle, the more repairs there will be.iv never run into an exception myself.

ahh, states. you guys would pay 2k for a 4x4 truck with very minimal rust, thats next to impossible out here, not to mention the scarcity of older truks within 200kms of toronto!
i think i overpaid for my 2wd 91 cclb, $2k, with rotted out floors, and a worn auto. Im total 4k in the truck now-solid ass cab, manual trans, new fuel system, tires, bodywork, clutch and manual swap.
hardly ever see old crew cabs around here and ive wanted one for so long..just wish i could find a cheap d60

i personally wouldn't pay more than $2k for it. that rust on the bed is pretty bad, the frame is quite rusty. i don't think you could tow anything with it based on the exhaust. to me it looks like it has a straight junk of pipe over the axle:dunno. i could be wrong though.

is it just a reflection or is that a huge rust hole in the front bumper right at the corner?

any idea what the puddle of "liquid" is on the mat underneath the front tank area of the truck is?

another thing but i don't really know why people put brand new tires on a truck and then sell it right away. i understand that other things come up forcing a sale but...... i know that those tires on that are NOT CHEAP and to just put brand new tires on the truck and then sell it right away would worry me a bit.

i agree the interior is in pretty good shape, but if that is an 8/10, then mine has got to be about a 15/10.

i know you have been looking for a year+ but i would continue to look.

I can do all the mechanical repairs myself.....Just not body work..... I'm not a body man and don't care to learn I hate painting lol.
I'm just picky when it comes to finding a truck and am stuck on having : an idi, reg cab 4x4, srw, 5 speed, and blue or black. Id buy a F250 but then your looking at another $1500 putting a dana 60 under it after you rebuild it... I can't seem to find a truck without any rust on it, I did find a couple in washington but all ex and crew cabs... There is a nice one in PA for $6500 with 74,000 original miles, but its a F250 non turbo... Not a big deal, but that damn thing also has rust on the fender wells.

Here's the one picture on the craigslist ad
