Found an 89 250 4x4 5 speed.

If I buy it will it have everything I need to swap the zf5 into my 85 6.9 4x4? Not sure about the differences with body styles.

Thanks

Getting the entire truck? Driveshafts could be an issue depending on wheelbase differences. Floor pan for trans is different between T19 and ZF5, use the newer one.

The real question is what are you swapping FROM. If you have an automatic now you will still need to find a clutch pedal assembly because they are body style specific and the 89 pedal assembly will not work in the 85.

Clutch pedals are really overrated on the ZF5. You can just stab the brake, pull the shifter really hard, and yell. Or if that seems too wild, build an engine with twin turbos like @1mouse3 and a super moose pump, put it in what ever gear you want and crank the truck up in that gear. It makes life more interesting........ especially for the observer from a safe distance.

@JSVD During your swap also take a look at the condition of your clutch pedal linkage and consider doing the heim joint upgrade

Also take a look at the firewall for flexing/cracking where the pedal mounts, it is known for being a weak point.

He has a 85 6.9, so a T-19 Trans if manual, C6 if auto.

Here is a t-19 -5-spd swap.
