a new side job came in today.
89 F350 2wd CC DRW 96 7.3 PSD
i need to make as much $$ as i can for my new boat!
this guy had his truck at a local shop, and they royally *****'d him.
so, he heard from one of my customers that i would do something like this.
hell i have 2 powerstroke swaps that im in the process of, so why not another?

i told him, that ive brought a 01 7.3 back to life, and that my IDI is my daily driver, both i received totally trashed.

im no expert, but i can do the work for a rate of 65/hr, minus research time.
however long it takes me is how long it takes me.
this is a hobby, but it will be done right, and not hacked!

but, the truck is hacked to begin with.
today i installed the engine plates that i bought off a member.
the previous shop just put the engine in on the f'n crossmember,
dummys. and welded this plate to the bottom of the crossmember. (if you can call this welding)
so the plates are in and the engine didnt have to come out.

i sold him a early GTP-38 that i scored on e-bay, and i wanted to use, oah well his TP-38 is junk, scrapes with a simple turn of the hand.

just waiting on a new pedestal with the EPBV deleted.
new up pipes.
new battery cables

the truck has a ZF5 and a GV ready to install.

Those are some of the worst 'welds' I have ever seen!
Good luck with the rebuild, I'm sure there's some more nasty surprises lurking in there.

i can blow my nose in my sleep and have more penetration!
dont f'n jinx me! lol
the only thing the shop did was place the engine in the engine compartment and rhino lined it....
then he told them to stop.

i really really dont see how one can weld this way.
at some point doesnt one say " woah, this isnt working"?

sooooo, did a bit of work on this a few days ago.

these ********* used standard bolts for the transmission.
one of them is cross threaded.
the other 5 i didnt have a problem replacing with the correct metric bolts.

up pipes, down pipe, and EBPV delete pedestal are in. (as in delivered)
i went to install the turbo, and BAM the wastegate hits the damn cowl.
time to break out the grinder and welder and make it fit...
hopefully get that done this weekend.

97 PSD, early 99 turbo with 1.10 intake snail
the intake Y does not fit.
gonna have to find one or modify one.

but the UP pipes do....
jut out a section of the firewall so the wastegate will fit
this is just a test fit right now, ill fill in the gap later.

Man! I'm a hack welder at best. And I always tell people, just because your welds aren't pretty, don't let that keep you from welding. But holey crap, that weld put the U in UGLY.
