12 hours on her.
calling it a day/night.
can only work so much!
lots of stuff done.
i decided against the rear mounted batteries.
well i may install 2 more when i get my boxes done,
but for practicality reason i decided to stick 1 in the engine compartment.
ill mount another later, i really needed some juice so i can finish the wiring and test stuff.

taking the babies in the pool, will post pics later.

if i had the right equipment, i would be suffering from cranium overload!
3 am i was up, and ready to work...
after i took my medication, and stumbled out to the shop with a nice hot cup of coffee, i just stared at it for an hour!
thinking of things i need to buy, and things i need to address.
well i couldnt figgure out where to start, so i went back inside, put some ice in the bong, and ordered a crap load of parts.
t bolt clamps, emblem, new AN adapters for the fuel sending unit, a coil of 5/8" aluminum for heater hoses.
and.... drum roll...............

a pressure relief valve ive been looking for....

gonna pull the fuel heater out of the racor and install this with a fuel pressure gauge...

excited that i wont be spilling diesel everywhere when i purge the system!

Aluminum tubing and diesel vibration don't digest well

Been thinking about that as I actually plumbed my return line in Al tube. Maybe a section of hose is in order for some isolation.

Aluminum tubing and diesel vibration don't digest well

please explain more Russ,
i want to have a super clean look, and IMO hose isnt cutting it...
prolly not necessary, but i had planned on running sections of rubber hose inbetween.
what avtually happens? the aluminum crack?

VICTORY!
only had a few minutes to work on it today, i installed my ground to chassis, but did not install the body ground.
i have a line 1/2 made, but dont know where i wanna put it...

well issue #1, the starter wire did not work, turns out i needed to add another hot to the ignition switch pig tail...
got that squared away, and it will crank by key!;Sweet

turned on the blower motor, and the damn thing didnt work....
because i didnt ground the unit LOL
grounded it and it came to life! :D

then i went to the head lights, no workie!
tracked power, and no power!!!
maybe because there wasnt a fuse in it...doh!
put a fuse in and it still didnt work...
some ******* didnt hit the headlight switch!

now i have low beam and high beam power!

when key is on,
"coil" wire has 12V
"choke" wire has 12V
alternator wire is hot, but i need tio run an 8g to the starter to cleanly complete that loop.
alt excitor wire is hot also, but i dont need it, so i will be digging in and re-routing that wire to the tach, along with the tach wire to complete that.

Yes it can crack just from thermal cycling, so does that crap stainless flexi heater hose the hot rodders love. Qualifier, this never happened with us made parts.

got the engine wiring complete minus the sender wires.
i want to do the entire gauge set up at once.

exhaust manifold Y is installed and turbo is clocked, and tight.

went to start on the headlight wiring, and wouldnt ya know....
i blocked off the area for the corner lights.
so the inner fender covers will have to come back out and be modified.
damn the bad luck... but this is the terrain i choose for custom stuff!

hoping to get the entire engine bay wiring finished today!

and the GPC still dont work....
there is an internal malfunction me thinks...
ill be checking that shortly.

but first.... medication!
:smoke:

I second that aluminum tubing is no good for fuel lines. I use CuNiFer for hard lines, aluminum tubing seems to get brittle with time.

It will work harden and crack if put in a situation where it vibrates a lot or has to move a lot say engine to heater core.

This is why I'm running a flex line from the fuel pump over to the engine. Need to do similar on return side.

gauges are the EV series, white face blue pointer and lettering, chrome bezel.
after a few trips to the store, i have the driverside done, but the highbeams and low beams are acting funny.
think maybe i *****'d the wiring...
done for today..
