Now you've found the other issue. Computers almost always give you a PSD listing for a 1994 Ford diesel. Order parts for a 1993 from a parts store full of computer jockeys who couldn't tell a sparkplug from a glow plug. You know the kind. They have to ask if it's 4X4 or 4X2 before they can sell you a headlight bulb.

So now my question is, should I buy the power master 9050 online for $231? With a 1 year warranty, or should I go with the mitsubishi at O'reilly's for a $190 with a lifetime warranty.

Lifetime warranty will always sway me. Have one on my truck, have had to warranty it out once since I bought it back in 2009

Iam using the Power Master 9050, been in there 6 years or a bit longer. Works great.
First crank to start the Engine, thought it was going to flip the truck
over it spun so fast...LOL

Note: the Power Master 9051 for the Power Stroke is the same starter, except for the Spacer. Just remove the Spacer.

Couple years ago I was poking around on Google, and decided to do a PM search for the 9050.
Speed Way Motors had one listed for $149 and free shipping.
Was a return, when I opened the box, it was never installed, I
scored on that one. It`s a spare on the shelf

I found comments on install that state you need a swivel socket not just a swivel knuckle to install the power master

I would like to state otherwise. I had no difficulty installing the Powermaster 9050 starter

Do not recall what I used for tools when I installed mine, was no big deal what ever they were. Biggest issue I ran into was getting the battery cable to bolt up.

Got the 9050 power master installed , took about 45 minutes. That top out is tricky, but I got it tight. Ol bla k Betty has been setting for a couple of years, for lack of new shoes and more recently needed starter. After cranking a bit and using the dreaded ether, she fired up and is running again. Yippeee!!!

Well Ole black Betty starts easily and quick with the new 9050 starter. I let her run in the driveway yesterday for a couple of hours at idle, and again this morning for about 30 minutes before taking a drive to the store this morning. She runs good down the road, but everytime i let off the gas to stop, she dies before i get to the stop sign. I have to put her in neutral to restart and come to a stop. so what could be causing the dieing when letting off the throttle instantly?

Metering valve in the IP is sticky.

I have had good luck with this on several IP's that have set for extended periods. Remove the fuel filter and fill a new one completely full of power service or type F atf, install filter and start engine. Let it run for about 45 seconds, shut it off and let it set for atleast 12 hours.

After it has set fo atleast 12 hours, start it and take it out for a hard drive. Drive it like you stole it. This should fix the issue.

ok, started the soak last night. put 32oz of diesel clean in back tank with half tank of diesel. ran truck for an hour to get it good and warm. Emptied fuel filter and filled with type F transmission fluid. started it up and ran for about 30 seconds, waiting now for a few days, then take her for a spin down the road.
