1984 6.9 fuel not goin from ip to injectors

Hi I am new to this page, don’t know how it all works, I just acquired a 1984 6.9 hasn’t ran in a while, i bypassed the fuel tank and it has a new lift pump, filter and ip and I’m getting fuel from the filter to the ip but not to the injectiors, I have bled and cranked still not a drop to any injectors FSS switch is good also

Pull one injector line off completely - so you can watch the output of the IP itself. It should dribble out one spurt per rev when cranking.
Make sure the throttle is floored when doing this(if under the hood, just push it all the way towards the firewall).

I have done that, taken one off at a time at injectors and at the back of the pump, and today I found out I have fuel back feeding from the return line (like it’s trying to go into the pump)

I have good fuel flow all the way to the ip, new ip new mechanical pump, cleaned lines, everything turns and moves like it should just ip is empty and the return is trying to back fill the ip??

A place in Tennessee, Diesel care? I heard they weren’t the best place after I got it

Yeah that’s your problem there, call them and hopefully you can get a replacement sent out.

Is it normal tho for the fuel return to be pushing fuel back to the pump ? I disconnected that line and cranked it and it was steadily back filling ?

No, youve got some internal pump issues unfortunately

Are you getting fuel coming from that port is it syphoning back from the return lines?

It’s coming thru the main return line back to the ip..... like it’s flowing backwards

Possibly the return line to the tank is plugged. You might check that, but it wouldn't cause your no start.

Welcome to the forum. Sad news is you purchased a injection pump from a less than stellar ebay seller. Best try to return it and get your money back. My bet is diesel careless will tell you that YOU did something wrong. Thats their M.O.

Might be a dumb question, but could it be off a Chevy and not for a idi? I thought I read on here that they run the opposite direction. Am I off in the weeds here?
