Cummins from the looks of the inside of that compressor housing.

I will soon be able to post similar pics if my boss don't do something about my turbo on my 3406B. It is fine while I am not into the boost, but when I start to pull hard with it, the turbo impacts the side of the housing.....sounds like I am dragging a 3/8" chain up the road at 50 MPH....I am waiting for either the seal to let go and start pumping oil into places that it shouldn't....or parts of the compressor wheel to come out the stack.

Careful, you could have a run away if she starts burning that oil if I'm not mistaken.

Either way Chris, have a clean pair of undies in the glove box cuz you'll prolly need em when she decides on what way she wants to go tango uniform.:D

Looks a little like the turbo I swapped out on one of our buses by TX A&M. Got a call it was smoking like heck, pouring oil, and had no power. Comp wheel was broke in half and turbine wheel along with the shaft was MIA. It's probably still somewhere inside the muffler and I'll retrieve it when I replace the muffler again.

He figgures that it's not that bad....with between 1/8 and 1/4" of play, I am just waiting on it to blow apart.

HOPEFULLY it goes on a hill then......that way I can make it to the top before I call a wrecker!! :D Best part is, when she DOES finally let go, I will have it all on video thanks to the dash cam!!!

I've heard turbo's on locomotives that were headed in this same direction. Imagine what your engine would sound like at full throttle, with someone using a table saw under the hood. LOL
