    coolant filter seems like a pita.

    My water pump went out at 105,000 miles and when I put it back together I flushed out the block. I got about 3 cups of casting sand out.     Up date on filter location. Here is the update on the filter change. Son changed the filter but found it was leaking before change. It had a valve somewhat like I have on my early 99. He hunted down a new O-ring changed out the filter and all is good. Our friend called to thank him again...

    Radiator options for a 7.3 stuffed into a 56 Ford F250

    If I remember right that the 55 ford Customline with the 272 v-8 with heater had a 32 qt. cooling system which is the same as my 99 PSD. The customline was a sedan. Hope this helps.

    what type of clutch are you running??

    I have a South bend clutch, and have had it for about 95K. I tow about 10 times a year a 6800 lb. travel trailer and about 4 times a 9000Gross Flat bed trailer. The clutch works just fine. Hope this helps. Joe

    Having the engine apart you might as well ballence it. Ive found that on engines I have rebuilt that they seem to last longer than those I haven't ballenced.

    If it is a 6speed hand shaker then they had clutch hydraulic problems, Weak throwout bearing actuators and the clutch plates would lose the dampener springs.
