How big a deal is it to mess with the ip fuel screw with no egt gauge?
I never tow with this thing and its non turbo. It wont see full throttle at all times.
If I do decide to mess with it how much adjustment do you guys recommended?

even with no turbo you would be surprised how high the egt's can climb when the fuel screw is messed with

if yooure not getting full power at times, I would check your fuel pick ups, convert to electronic fuel pump, change injectors, and then go from there.
youre going to have the same issue if you just turn the fuel screw up.

I turned mine up 2 flats then back down about 1. I don't have an egt gauge but I do have a small mirror I use to watch for smoke. Low rpm+ smoke means get out of it. Same way I drove my old Peterbilt.

Mines maxed an thats what I do lol. No pyro but I do use my normal temp guage and that kinda does tell Ya when to back off cause you can watch it climb if your in it all the time.but pretty much no smoke your good.and with smoke you just gotta watch it

i dont know what youre talking about.
but when im doing 70-80 up a 10% grade,
im liftting because the pyro is reaching 1150.
WITH NOT MUCH SMOKE.
google the temp that aluminum melts.
which would represent pistons.

Your radiator doesn't have much to do with cylinder temp, all that black smoke comes from half burn't fuel. Your timing has to be way off, like retarded, try advancing it a little, like about 1/16". Each 1/16" is comparable to 3 degrees. Still get black smoke, back off the IP fuel one hex at a time. I think you'll see an increase in MPG.
