It doesnt take mastery in this to know that more fuel in engine = less mpg.. although the heaviness in your foot would play a much much bigger role.

That's the main thing! You can turn the fuel up all the way, but if you accelerate at the same rate that you do now, your fuel consumption shouldn't go up any...however, if you get in the habit of burying the pedal and rolling coal, then your fuel economy will take a nosedive.

In fact, IIRC people have noticed mileage IMPROVEMENTS with Moose Pump installs, if they can keep their foot out of it...this hoped-for fuel savings is one of my main justifications for planning to go this route for my next IP...

mine actually increased when I turned my pump up, because I ran around scared to hammer on it(no pyro at first) I have never really noticed a difference between my mileage now and before the turn up. If you think of your fuel delivery in relation to how far the pedal is pushed as a straight line graph then that screw increases the slope of that line as you turn it up. as long as you work the pedal softer you could turn the pump up all the way and never notice a difference in mileage or egts but if you go buryin your foot then egts are up and mileage is down

actually I thought it was pretty easy to melt a n/a with too much fuel.......so I wouldn't say you don't need a pyro.

You need a Pyro more with a turned up n/a. A Turbo lowers egts at stock or slightly over settings
+1 to that!!! You ABSOLUTELY need a pyro if you're going to turn the fuel up on a n/a engine...as tractorman said, it's more critical than on a turbo engine. I would argue that you should have a pyro even on a bone-stock n/a engine...and, on that note, I would also argue that a pyro should be factory-installed on ANY diesel pickup.
