Seems to be a lot of DPS parts just laying around.. Mel,PLEASE dont call any of your products stage anything. It is a catch phrase I hate. The only stage thing I like is the T3 turbine wheels that are 1,2 and 3 because they were measured and marketed as such.
I had a kid tell me he had "stage 3" racing tires on his car. I burst out laughing, he said what??? they are called that because the tread is shaved down to control tread flex in high speed driving, so he bought half used tires and paid big bucks for them, I laughed again.
And I do know about tread walk, but not on a Honda.

Ken Seems to have a way of turning his worshipful throng into his most virulent enemies. Me personally I wouldn't go that far, but I can't say that I would trust him to be reliable and stand behind his product either. I still have usually heard good things about the DPS pump. Its the Stage 1s that get most of the complaints, with good reason, they just dump the fuel in. Freight Train you probably have one or two Stage 1s stuck shut, a consequence of Ken's grinding away the pintle in a very crude manner. I would bet that DPS pump would be just fine with a set of stock BB injectors or the Moose Injectors and you could put it right where it should be timing wise.

Moose injectors are hopfully going to make a debut at the Rally. I'll dyno them for sure on our dyno day. It's going to be a hoot!

Unfortunately, I don't think I hear anybody laughing. I don't have to coin to go this route myself, right now, but will do it for anybody who wants to be the ginny pig.

What are we looking at here as a guinea pig? If the prototype set doesn't perform as wanted/expected how much are redesigned injectors going to cost? Will there be any discount for the guinea pig if additional protoype injectors are required to come up with an acceptable standard?

Interesting concept on the tip re-design....one thing comes to mind.

While more holes offer better distribution and enable a finer atomization, they also weaken the remaining area below the holes ,despite the holes being not much bigger than a hair at the amount needed.

The square design is interesting but how is the relief factored in?
We all understand how a radius is superior to a square edge in terms of strength....do they plan on a back relief that flows to a radius or an elliptical?

Are you guys talking about Ken aka DPS...who was known as "Landyaght" on some forgotten site years back?

I though he was really on to something back then........

Geo - yep you are right the Ken they speak of is/was landyacht on the boards.

The problem wasn't so much with his products - although they didn't live up to their claims and didn't quite perform well for on road daily operations but more so with his business practices from my understanding. Guys could not get a hold of him when things went south - he sort of just disappeared when products had problems or customers had concerns....

I put them in before the Chatty rally. In troubleshooting my dropped valve after that trip I bought 8 new ones...2 heads, one new piston later I just never put the stage ones back in.

Hit me with a number if you are interested.

I will say Ken did good work on the ATS turbo overhaul for me, it came back looking like a brand new turbo. The problem has always been getting hold of him and getting him to follow through on promises to deliver products in a timely manner. My understanding is that the DPS turbo cal pump works as advertised, but there are enough people out there now that have them and have some miles on them, that could be open to debate. The stage 1s really are not a very good design, in fact it was Reklund's experiences with Ken that probably turned a lot here against him. For those that don't remember, he bought a DPS fuel system and installed it in the pre intercooler days along with his old 088 ATS turbo, he got a lot more fuel and boost out of it, however he could not quite get the truck to idle right and there was NO luminosity on cylinder 1, that turned out to be because the DPS injector was stuck shut. Ken never honored the warranty or called him back, so now he has 8 stock BB injectors and a DPS pump still as far as I know, but a very low opinion of Ken and DPS, and I can't say I blame him.

i guess that if a person lived close enough to DPS that they could just walk in there and deal with them face to face they would probably be allright to work with. that is if they cared more about what they were doing.

Mel,
Did you think any about these questions?
